Snow is forecast for today, tonight, tomorrow and later this week. Four to six inches is expected tonight into tomorrow and we are under a winter weather advisory.

Today in the slow cooker, roast three rabbits and various veggies to feast on this evening.

It’s a good day to sit inside and knit. Mittens are progressing. Yule gifting is happening.

House and Senate bills to kill all organic farms (FAST track bills in 2 weeks)

Food Safety Modernization Act (HR 875): Criminalization of Organic Farms

Bills are:

House H.R. 875 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/ bill.xpd? bill=h111- 875

Senate S 425 http://www.govtrack.us/congress/ bill.xpd? bill=s111- 425

There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening. Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto.

This Bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to “make sure there is no danger to the public food supply”.

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds will be allowed, only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now causing unexpected diseases in humans. Here is a short video on the subject: http://www.voteronpaul.com/newsDetail.php?Food-Safety-Modernization-Act-HR-875-Criminalization-of-Organic-Farms-222

Lets get real folks! This has NOTHING to do with food safety. This is only about TOTAL CONTROL by the feds in our lives. So, get on that phone ASAP and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing, by sending this message far and wide.

The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position…. . they only fear your voice and your vote.

LET THEM KNOW YOU OPPOSE THESE BILLS: HR 875 and S 425

Not an idea new to me, today marks our first Coffee Cauldron at the PR Pantry and Quilter’s Parlour. From 12-2 Pagans, Eclectics, Freethinkers and Lovers of the Earth are gathering for coffee and socialization.

Of course the idea sprang from the Coffee Cauldron in the Twin Cities. I have never been, have always been jealous of those living in the Twin Cities who can attend, and longed for something similar up here.

It’s a great chance to spread boundaries, hone different friendships, and show people that might not agree with Alternative Paths, that we are not showy people, not freaks, not people being different for the sake fo being different, etc.  The joy of going for coffee and fellowship exists outside of church basements.

I am excited and antsy and cannot wait for the next 2 hours to pass. I think I’ll do some cleaning to make it pass a little faster.

After Coffee Cauldron V and Dare coming over. V has an antenatal appointment with me and they are paying Rob for his mechanic services, picking up the vehicle, and staying for pot roast. MMMMM Pot roast. Truth be told, though, I would really like to just be at home with only my family tonight. I’m not sure the reason, but it feels like a mellow sort of day. I want to eat pot roast, watch The Amazing Race (I am addicted to that program!) and do a little writing in my BOS/L. I have loose things stuck in it that need to be permenently placed.

Hopefully the evening shan’t be too late.

Twice this week I went thrifting and I found some really great things….here are a few of them:

A cute little egg topiary for Ostara. It sits on the dining room table.

Little wooden Springtime tree sitting on the nature table.

Pretty plates hanging above my altar window in the kitchen. The plate hangers were also thrfited finds 😉

Another pretty windchime waiting for Spring to go outside and hang in the trees.

This neat postcard that now sits on my altar in the kitchen.

I also got a really great pink aluminum cake plate and cover to match my growing collection of pink aluminum kitchen objects and 3 cloth Amish dolls for the girls. There were also bits of fabric that I found, but they have since been used in a gift for my niece who turned 6 on Sunday. I am thinking I will go again this weekend. The weather is going to be AMAZING so it will be the perfect day to be out thrifting….and I can go out further int he land than just Pequot Lakes or Hackensack…YAY!

So that’s it. Off to finish my dishes and then the last minute stuff before the flea market this weekend.
